Indian Fortune teller

This idian guy came to the motel. he rang the bell and my mom answered the window, and he asked if he ccould speak to her. She said she was busy, but he said, "I felt drawn to this building. i am a Yogi, and i have been training all my entire life.' My mom is skeptical of strangers and he said "I want to talk to you. something in the universie tells me to come to your building."

My mom was like, 'And what do you want from me?" He said, 'i know you don't trust me. but, I think you have something in this building like a ghost or another fortune teller." My mom said, "Yeah, maybe they all say that?"

The guy then said, "Think of a number and write it in your head, anything from 1 to 1000." My mom thought of her number which was 423. He wrote on a paper and told her to put it in her pocket. Then later he starts talkign to her about herself and the future and life and me, and just everything such as the business and the ghosts. So, my mom started warming up to him. He told me to think of a flower and I did. He wrote on a paper and told me to put it in my pocket. After about 30 minutes, he goes, 'Do you still not believe me?" My mom said, "I am a skeptic."

So after all the talking and stuff, he told me to take my paper out of my pocket and it said 423 on it. He told my mom to take hers out of her pocket and it said, "Black rose" on it and that's what I thought of for a flower. That is the weirdest thing ever. Maybe he was real. But he said that I am the cause of the ghosts because they know I believe in them and I have had this clear and open mind since I was a baby in the motel. He told me not to be afraid but to learn and train my mind because I am a powerful person.

Before he left he said he lives off tips and any donation would help him because he is homeless. My mom sent him off with fresh lunch, Pozole and soda and 10 dollars.

Meanwhile I asked if I could clean up room 6 today since the people were not stay overs and I really wanted to spend time in there. I felt nothing, but I was still very amazed by the Indian fortune taller.

Room 5 ghost appeared tonight.

It's almost 1 in the morning and finally one of the spirits scared a guest. They were drinking and I think they saw it. Because she ran out of room 5 screaming. Her boyfriend calmed her down and she kept saying, 'i swear i thought i saw a ghost...i fucking swear i saw it. I don't wanna go back in there" He kept telling her to come back in side and calm down and they will stop drinking.

It woke up me and my mom. she knows we shouldn't be renting out that room or at least find someone to make the spirits go away. It's not right. They aren't supposed to be here on this place, they are supposed to be in heaven with their loved ones, not in some motel in Los angeles california.

Well, i wanted to type this down before I go back to bed. There was so much commotion outside that I woke up. I was hoping to see it too, but whenever they get seen they always fade away.

Raining and Delivery

It really sucks that so many people want extra stuff. It's raining and I have to keep delivering things becasue they want new towels and washcloth or an extra blanket, or even some shampoo and if we have any travel tooth paste. It's like they don't know or give a care if I get my homework done, or if I get to finish my food before it gets too cold. My mom doesn't have a clue, and she's from Mexico so she's a hard worker and expectts me to live like we are in Mexico.

Plus my mom went to church but told me to stay at home. I hate it, but what can i do. I live here and its a family business. I had to stay and do all this laundry and fold all the sheets and these big blankets. Dad doesn't do laundry, but he cleaned the parking lot and checked for damages and did some paperwork. I'm not saying i feel like a slave, but I am sayiing that I feel like i want to do things. My mom said I can have a party for Valentine's day, no boys, but I can have a sweets and blockbuster night. We get to take up a whole room. I am going to try and convince her to let us have one of the haunted rooms or at least one of the other rooms, because I don't want to be disturbed all night to work. I just want to have fun. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Sincerely,
Veracruz

Trashy couple left marijuana smell

It's 11:30 tonight and I had a kind of busy day. I really want to get my nails done for the very first time, but my mom said I'm too young and they get in the way. All my friends have them. So, instead, I had to clean rooms 9 and 17 and then do the chores in our place.

Room 9 had some trashy looking couple in there and it smelled like marijuana (yes i know what it smells like, no I don't smoke that) even though our vacancies are considered smoke-free. We don't allow smoking. But what are you gonna do, you know? I know how to make a streak-free glass, and they had fingerprints all over the mirror over the sink. I think they were doing the nasty in the bathroom People are so discusting.

THe carpet had food crums on it and the trash was left in a pile on the table. When I grow up, I swear I will never leave a motel or hotel a mess. They can do a myspace search on your name and city. I did and this trashy girl even has a trashy myspace profile. What a ho and she only put her good pics up because she's not even pretty i real life.

I didn't spot any ghosts tonight, but then again they usually come out later, but sometimes they come out around this time. None came out.

Oh let me write this before I forget. In room 17, they left the coolest backpack, but said that they didn't need it anymore. The room was really clean when they left, but I still had to clean it so not even one piece of dust bunny is visible t the eye.

I'm going to use my new backpack for my art class.

No vacancy pendejo.

It is almmost 11 at night and we stop renting rooms when the sign has a no vacancy. That's just how my mom and dad do it. If it isn't a guest buzzing us, then we don't rent rooms out if we aren't vacant and usually don't even answer the window, but I saw the guy thrugh the curtain and I think he saw me. People don't understand that even if we are home it doesn't mean we are open. I was watching tv in the famaly room and this stupid idiot starts bbanging on the window. It's raining and he wasn't a guest, and he didn't buzz us like the guests are asked to do if they need something after 6:30 at night. I told him through the window that we are not vacant and I pointed to the No Vacancy sign but he still asked, "There's no vacancy?" He's all showing this money to me and whatever there's no vacancy.

Duhh. I said, "No we don't have any more rooms available." I missed the last of my show and it pissed me off. Now I am off to bed. I wish we had a sign or something for the window. I'm gonna ask my dad tomorrow.

Sincerely,
Veracruz

PS
The suicide ghost just appeared outside. Just half his body shows and it's weird. He used to scare me but I don't even care anymore. he's like anybody else walking through the parking lot.

I decided to start a blog

Hi, my name is Veracruz, named after a city in Mexico that my mom is orifinally from. I am of Mexican-American descent. My parents own a motel and I grew up in. I'm 13 years old. Sometimes on the weekend or evening I get to do some work, such as giving pepole new sheets or towels or extra blankets.

Our motel is haunted. We have a few "resident" ghosts but they mostly stick around in 3 rooms. Room 5, 6, and 7, but sometimes people say they see them in the parking lot or outside the window. In room 6 a man committed suicide by a gun many years ago, and ever since we have had resident ghost, but I don't know if it draws more ghosts like the medium said it could, but two more have appeared since the suicide guy. They are not mean but it scares people and I have even seen the dead guy in room 6. I just pretend the guests are crazy because my parents say that we should never bring it up if they don't know.

My family stays at the very front. My mom does a lot of the housekeeping, but we have 2 other housekeepers, and my dad does maintenance and handyman work. My mom does the front office too, but if she's not doing it, then I cover for her or dad covers for her. We have a 2 story townhouse, and then the back section is where all the motel stuff happens. Our townhouse livingroom is unlike anybody else's livingroom. We have a thick glass window and that's where the transactions go through where we book the rooms. Our livingroom is our office. I try not to do my homework in the office because it's very distracting. People ask dumb questions like I am supposed to know where the nearest whatever-name bank is at. I'm just a kid, and I don't go to the bank. I just go to school and go back home. Also I live in the busiest house of all my friends, my bell rings several times a day!

Its hard because sometimes people try to live in our motel but my parents have made it where you can't stay at our rooms for more than 2 weeks. What happens is that things begin to deteriorate or get damages. We have to write things off for a loss and then replace or fix damages. It's not good for business to have people get too comfortable by living there. It's sad because sometimes people don't have anywhere else to go. Our motel is a good price and it's cozy and unlike some of the trashy ones down the street where all the hookers stay at, ours is very well kept.

Well, I guess I should get back to homework.
Love, Veracruz
